BSW gearing up for huge Thunder Car Invitational

Season finale shaping Up to be One of the Main Racing Events in Canada for 2008!

The prize money is now up to $13,205 PLUS $35 for each car that shows up and passes tech inspection for our huge Thunder Car invitational, slated for September 20 and 21 at Barrie Speedway! Additional prizes will be announced the day of the event!

This is sure to be one of Racing Highlights of the year in Canada.

Pit prices will be $25 for non members and $10 for NASCAR members.

There will be camping available either at the Speedway or at Burls creek. Details will be released shortly as to whether it will be at the Speedway or at Burls. There are also special rates for race teams of $89 per night available at Horseshoe resort.

PAYOUT DETAILS
1. Three feature races - $4,085 per race, times 3 races = $12,255 total for three features
2. Top three winners overall (total points for all three features) will also receive- 1st - $500.00 , 2nd - $300.00, 3rd - $150.00 = $950.00

Additional prizes will be announced the day of the event!

FORMAT OVERALL SUMMARY
1. Qualifying time trials and heats will be run on Saturday and heats on Sunday.
2. Three 50 Lap feature races on Sunday. One heat only per group of cars.
3. Full purse for each 50 lap feature
4. All cars that pass tech inspection are eligible for a "show-up" payout of $35
5. Rules will be strictly enforced

RULES
Chassis
1. No three link rear ends
2. No tube Cars - (stock frame rails + no tube front frame clips)
3. Minimum 6" height
4. Minimum weight 3,200 lbs
5. No Racing Dual Master cylinders. - O.E.M. dual master cylinders - Okay
6. Stock frame cars, all suspension pick-up points must be stock
7. All other - home track rules Bring the rules with you

Engine
1. no vortec heads
2. no headers
3. camshaft 410 intake, 410 exhaust
4. compression max 9.0:1.0
5. small valve heads only
6. stock rocker arms

Tires
1. Home track rules
2. No slicks

General
1. BSW cars will comply with BSW rules
2. Where interpretations of home track rules are required, and any/all decisions are made, BSW's officials' decisions are final
3. Rules will be strictly enforced


1. SATURDAY, SEPT 20 - PM - FIRST EIGHT QUALIFYING POSITIONS WILL BE DETERMINED
(26 TOTAL FOR FEATURE)

1. Time trials for all cars in attendance - two laps
2. Total # heats determined by number of cars - approximately 10-12 cars per heat. One heat only per group of cars.
3. Car position of heats - 1st heat - fastest car - pole position, all odd number cars in order of time trials
- 2nd heat - 2nd fastest car - pole position, all even number cars
- and so on, if more than 24 cars - (wouldd increase cars/heat if slightly more than 24 cars total) - depending on car count, increase heats and # of cars per heat - 10-12 cars
4. Top eight cars (total) from all heats qualify for Sunday's 1st feature race (ie - if two heats, top four cars from each heat, etc)
5. If the Saturday car count requires more than two heats, as an example - for three heats, we wud qualify top three cars in each heat, nine cars total , etc


2. SUNDAY SEPT 21 TO QUALIFY THE REMAINING FIELD (APROX 18 CARS) (26 TOTAL FOR FEATURE) - RUN THREE 50 LAP RACES

Qualifying
1. Starting positions for 1st heats will be drawn. . Starting positions for 2nd heats will be based on inverted finishes from 1st heats. Any cars from Sat that did not qualify are eligible to "try again" on Sunday

2. In addition to 26 feature cars there will be 12 "bubble" cars qualified. These cars will be available from 1st to 12th based on the heat finishes from both Saturday and Sunday (top six from heats one + two, or, top four from each three heats, etc) These cars will compliment a full field, if for any reason any of the starting cars cannot run in the second and third features. A bubble car would start at the rear of the feature race.

Three 50 Lap Feature Races
1. 1st 50 lap Feature - 1st eight cars (positions one thru eight), will be the first eight qualifiers from Saturday - in order
- positions nine thru twenty-six will be qualified in order of Sunday's heats results

2. 2nd 50 Lap Feature - Inverted from 1st 50 Lap Feature

3. 3rd 50 Lap Feature - Lowest accumulated points total for first two features combined, will determine the starting position, and so on thru the field
- the top six positions will each "pull a pee" to determine their starting position - positions 7 thru 26 will be as per accumulated points total from 1st two features

NOTE - points from feature races will be as follows - 1st - one point, 2nd - two points, etc
